Compassion, connection, and play to foster communication and feeding development.

Hi there!

Hi! My name is Jenna Messick, and I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist, wife, and mom!
I decided early on that I wanted to be a speech language pathologist and haven’t looked back since! I completed my undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Eastern Washington University and completed my Masters in Speech Language Pathology at Idaho State University. I have worked in a variety of settings, including schools and clinics.
In 2022 I launched a private practice with the support of my husband, Jesse. I chose the name Play Adventures because play is the conduit for a child’s development and each child is on their own adventure to develop new skills.
My mission is to journey alongside families to provide quality services with an integrative approach built around family routines, evidence-based approaches, and connection.

My Service Guide

My philosophy

Communication and feeding are vital skills that we can so often take for granted until these systems are disrupted. I believe that every child should have access to communication and caregivers should feel equipped to support and advocate for their child. Services at Play Adventures are grounded in evidence-based practices, data collection, and play to create a positive learning environment.

  • Testimonials

"Ms. Jenna offers constructive play and learning opportunities that give her students the confidence to exercise their skills in real life. While working with the children, she also is sure to incorporate ways to strengthen skills at home with different tools and suggestions for parents to use. Our son has developed leaps and bounds, and without Ms. Jenna's compassion and dedication he wouldn't be where he is now. He highly anticipates his weekly visits at Play Adventures and to show the progress he has made since the previous visit." - Parent.

  • Testimonials

My son has been seeing Miss Jenna for speech for 2 years now and she has been wonderful! Since the very beginning, Jenna made it her mission to connect with him first before starting any work or placing high expectations. Her method of play based; child lead therapy has been fantastic for my son. At every appointment she gives my son time to get comfortable and get his wiggles out before starting any of the work. She does a great job of building him up with positive reinforcement and " you can do it' attitude. She takes all of my concerns and thoughts as a parent seriously and always makes us feel heard. Recently, my son has not been able to have OT which has greatly affected his daily life and he is struggling with meltdowns and lack of focus more than ever. Since this has happened, Jenna has incorporated some gross motor activities to help him regulate while building his vocabulary and communication skills in a low-pressure environment. We are so happy to have her as his SLP and she is truly a part of our village. We love Miss Jenna! - Parent

  • Testimonials

Jenna is absolutely amazing! She treated my 2-year-old son weekly where she not only did an amazing job at meeting him at his ability to motivate and teach him to communicate with us, but she also went out of her to consistently touch base and answer any questions my husband or I had. Jenna made sure we understood the reasoning behind what she did and would even give us little tasks to do at home to help support our son. I am forever thankful for Jenna! - Parent.
